Mendoza is slower, sunnier and much smaller than Argentina’s big cities.
It’s famous for wine — but there’s much more to it.
Parque San Martín
On weekends, come for the morning markets, local pastries and a relaxed breakfast.
Summer tip: come early or later in the afternoon — the sun shows no mercy.
You’ll also find local sellers, refreshing smoothies and, of course, an absolute summer must-have: ice cream.
Food and drink
Unfortunately, with Argentina’s financial situation, even good places don’t always last.
So here are my go-to places that are still here (as of September 2026).

Day trips
Mountains, hot springs, vineyards and more. Mendoza is the perfect base to explore incredible places just a short drive away.
- Potrerillos: lake, mountains and fresh air.
- Cacheuta: hot springs and relaxation in nature.
- Valle de Uco: world-class wines and breathtaking landscapes.
- Aconcagua: the highest peak in the Americas, up close.
